This is a chili virus transmitted by thrips its very difficulty to control only depends on spray or chemical based. so we need to control this by integrated way.
Chili Virus:
Preventive measures for chili virus (vector- Thrips & whitefly)
Seedling stage:
- Use a virus-resistant genome.
- Seed treat with lecanicillium lecanii@10ml/100g of seeds.
- Drench with Metarhizium anisopliae + Beauveria bassiana@100 g/10 liters of water and drench the seedling plants.(Farmers Experience)
- Avoid monoculture.
- Spray neem oil + karanj oil @30 ml/10 liters of water before transplanting the main field.
After Transplanting
- Apply neem cake @100 kg + pseudomonas @1kg /acre area.
- Applyor mix carbofuran 3% CG@2kg/acre in soil.
- Cut the apical shoot/ growing point of the infected plant.\
- Drench with Metarhizium anisopliae + Beauveria bassiana@100 g/10 liters of water and drench the seedling plants.
- Install blue sticky & white sticky traps@40-50/acre.
- Intercropping with maize with a ratio of 10:1(chili: maize) to conserve natural enemies. Also for the barrier to sucking pests.
- Chili is highly sensitive to viruses or sucking pests so needs to apply neem oil or repellent after 4-5 days continuously.
- Take one spray after 15 days of transplanting with beneviya (Cyantraniliprole 10.26 %)@40ml /10 liters of water.
- Take need-based application of insecticide to reduce further incidence based on ETL level.
- Here are the recommended insecticides here:
a) Broflanilide 300 g/l SC@10 ml/10 liters of water. (Trade name: Exponus)
b) Cyantraniliprole 10.26 % OD @40 ml/10 lit of water. (Trade name: Beneviya)
c) Diafenthiuron 50 % WP@20g/10 lit of water.(Trade name: Polo/Pegasus)
d) Ethion 50 % EC @30ml/10 lit of water. (Fosmite)
e) Fenpyroximate 05 % SC @30 ml/10 lit of water. (Trade name: Sedna)
f) Fipronil 5% @40 ml/10 lit of water.
g) Fipronil 80 % WG@5g/10 lit of water. (Trade name: jamp)
