Its Symptoms of Ear head bug/Gundhi bug sucking pest.

Nature Of Symtoms

The nymphs & adults suck the grains’ juice at the milky stage of the plant.
Due to de-sapping, grains show brownish discolored patches on the husk.

Management

  1. Keep the field and bunds free of weeds and grasses.
  2. Spray 5% NSKE
  3. Dust 2% methyl parathion @5kg/acre.
  4. Spray malathion @30 ml/10 liters of water.
  5. Application of the insecticide may be done either before 9 a.m. or after 3 p.m. so that fertilization of the flowers is not adversely affected.
